Privacy Policy

QtyLab (“we”) operates qtylab.com. This page explains what we do — and don’t do — with your information.

Calculators

Material calculators run entirely in your browser. Dimensions and other inputs you enter are not sent to QtyLab servers. If you use a shareable link, those inputs are stored in the page URL (query string) on your device; anyone with the link can see those numbers. We do not store calculator inputs in a QtyLab database.

If you type your own unit prices into a “What to buy” list, your browser remembers them on your device (local storage) so they are there next time. They are never sent to us. “Email this list” opens your own email app; QtyLab doesn’t see or send that message.

Calculators embedded on other sites. Other websites can embed a QtyLab calculator. An embedded calculator loads from qtylab.com and works the same way: the math runs in the visitor’s browser, and Google Analytics (below) counts that the widget was viewed and which site showed it. The site that embeds it has its own privacy policy for the rest of its page.

Hosting and logs

Our hosting provider may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and reliability. We do not sell personal information.

Analytics

Google Analytics (GA4). We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-ZQ0EBTMV97) to understand site usage — for example which pages are visited, how visitors navigate, and which buttons and links are used. Google Analytics may collect usage metrics via cookies or similar technology. See the Google Privacy Policy and Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.

Affiliate links

We don’t show ads. Some links on QtyLab are affiliate links, which is how the site pays for itself:

  • Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, QtyLab earns from qualifying purchases. Amazon may set cookies when you follow one of our links so the purchase can be credited.
  • Angi. “Compare quotes” links go to Angi through the CJ affiliate network. CJ and Angi may set cookies to track the referral, and we may earn a commission if you submit a request.

Once you leave QtyLab, the other site’s own privacy policy applies. Affiliate links never change the price you pay.

Browser settings can also block or delete cookies. Blocking cookies may affect how analytics and affiliate tracking work on this site.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do.
